Surely these things apply to men just as much as women?
Do men actually ENJOY the endless tedium and stress of going on a string of disappointing dates? (This does not mean that I look down on single people or think you should be in an unsatisfying relationship so, please, spare me the complaints.) But what gets me the most excited, Elaine, is that you’ve forced me to consider something that I’ve never actually considered before: Why Don’t Men Hate Being Single As Much as Women Do?
Or does it all simply come down to the capriciousness of the female orgasm – since men can have an orgasm with practically anyone, they don’t much care who they’re with, whereas if a woman finds someone who’s actually good in bed she’s desperate to hang on to him?! My assistant says it’s because when they’re single, they can play video games and watch porn, and if they got a girlfriend, she’d insist they give up one or both. So, together, let’s consider why men are generally cooler with being single than women: 1. As I observed in “Why He Disappeared”, this tends to be the way that men deal with most of their relationships.
So I thought I’d tell you about the experience men have when they’re trying to “date like a grownup.” If you’ve read my e Book, you know that I believe strongly that empathizing with men is absolutely essential to your dating and relationship success.
The definition of empathy is “the power of understanding and imaginatively entering into another person’s feelings.
The changeover from extra men to extra women starts in the late 30's, but doesn't overtake California and the Pacific Northwest until everyone's in their 50's.
If you are looking for single women in their twenties, they're hiding out in Durham NC, Savannah GA, or Jackson MS.Out of nowhere, this dude that I have never interacted with comes along and replies:“Children scare men.”It took me a moment to figure out what the hell he was talking about. We spoke about our random jobs that we had in our three decade adult lives, our pets, hobbies, and favorite movies. I still don’t know why men are terrified of children, but I do know that it’s lame. Those children are her universe and there is also room in it for you.I presumed he meant that the concept of having children was not desirable to men. Single moms want to have romance and some semblance of a sex life too. So the only way you really can empathize is to know their side of the story.Men and women are different in many ways, but we’re more the same than you may think. We all have dating disappointments and horror stories. If you'd like to hear more statistical griping, the old write-up.
